17th Avenue SW

Kensington

Kensington is Calgary’s premiere “Urban Village”. Rows of unique and trendy boutiques, restaurants, cafés and services make this one of Calgary’s most desirable areas. Stephen Avenue

Stephen Avenue: The Core. As the name suggests, The Core is the moniker given to Calgary’s busy and exciting downtown. Centered around 8th Avenue, known as Stephen Avenue, the core has become a destination not to be missed. Along Stephen Avenue, you will find diverse award-winning restaurants. From tapas to wine bars, steakhouses to sushi, downtown has a flavor to please every palate. Not to be over shadowed by great food is the great shopping. Bankers Hall, TD Square, Scotia Centre and Eaton’s Centre is where you will find everything from unique apparel boutiques, cooking shops, wine merchants and way-cool electronics. While currently under renovations, the shopping is still abundant. Stephen Avenue is a great place to spend a Saturday with the girls shopping and eating! Could it get any better?

Mission

From Sushi to Italian, 4th Street is home to several of Calgary’s favorite restaurants. Adjacent to 17th Ave, this area continues the trend of hip eateries, fun boutiques and hours of people watching. With the arrival of several new condo developments, 4th street has become a one-stop shopping district. Create a memorable meal with ingredients from an authentic Italian market while picking up flowers and stopping for a relaxing coffee. The Lilac Festival is an annual spring event on 4th street. This street festival brings out thousands of Calgarians to enjoy food, shopping, entertainment and the beer gardens under what is most often a sunny sky.

Beltline

Located directly south of Calgary's downtown (seperated by 9th Ave and the train tracks), The Beltline is comprised of four neighbourhoods: Victoria Crossing, East Victoria Crossing, Connaught Centre, and West Connaught. 14th Street SW marks The Beltline's western boundary and the Elbow River marks the eastern.

Chinatown

Chinatown is a mixture of shops, services and restaurants like no other area in the city. This community offers architectural and cultural treasures that continually surprise even the seasoned diner. Many exciting and entertaining events light up the streets with parades, festivals and friendly people. Chinatown is bordered by the Bow River to the north which offers some spectacular views of the river valley as well as some of Calgary's wildlife. This is also home to the Chinese cultural centre as well as the centre street bridge.

Eau Claire

Eau Claire offers a wide range of shops, boutiques and eateries. Connected to Prince's Island Park in Downtown, Eau Claire comes alive in the summer with a multitude of outdoor patios, festivals and events.

Inglewood

The revitalized neighborhood of historic Inglewood holds many of Calgary’s culinary gems. In addition to the finest Italian, sweetest desserts and warm cafes are unique home décor, music and apparel shops - not to mention the historic buildings and landmarks which add to the cultural appeal of the area. Inglewood is located along 9th avenue just across the Bow River to the East of downtown. The pathway and transit make it easy to get to and parking is abundant. Marda Loop

Marda Loop is a vibrant and friendly neighborhood. It is located in the inner-city's SW just up 14th street, stretching along 33rd avenue to Crowchild Trail. Rows of unique accessory and clothing shops, funky coffee houses and delightful restaurants make Marda Loop a destination for all. It is also home to Garrison Woods, a lovely area to walk about after grabbing lunch and coffee. The Calgary Farmer's Market in the Currie Barracks is a short walk across the bridge over Crowchild Trail. With so many areas to explore and eateries to experience, Marda Loop will be a spot to return to time and again.

Victoria Crossing

The revitalized neighborhood of Victoria Crossing is a thriving district not to miss. Within a a short stroll to the Saddledome and Round Up Centre, grabbing a bite before the game, a concert or event is a great way to experience the restaurants that call this area home. The Warehouse District, within Victoria Crossing, is home to some of Calgary’s oldest sandstone architecture and buildings juxtaposed between Calgary’s newest state of the art high-rise condo developments. Along 1st street SW you will find home décor and apparel boutiques to satisfy any shopper. Don’t let the construction deter you from taking a stroll through this growing and unique area of Calgary.
