Marda Loop

Marda Loop is a vibrant and friendly neighborhood. It is located in the inner-city's SW just up 14th street, stretching along 33rd avenue to Crowchild Trail. Rows of unique accessory and clothing shops, funky coffee houses and delightful restaurants make Marda Loop a destination for all. It is also home to Garrison Woods, a lovely area to walk about after grabbing lunch and coffee. The Calgary Farmer's Market in the Currie Barracks is a short walk across the bridge over Crowchild Trail. With so many areas to explore and eateries to experience, Marda Loop will be a spot to return to time and again.

Tasty food, a great menu. Today I had the eggs benedict Canadian version with Oka cheese and bacon, maple syrup. Delicious.

Nevermind that my latte tasted pretty good. My husband and I felt like we were bothering the people who worked there, and we were also surprised at the ridiculously high prices. They seemed to have a good selection of menu items, but I wouldn't want to go there for lunch considering the price. Also, signs posted around the place advertised things like, "NO FREE REFILLS" and told us not to spend too much time at our table. Seriously? They could have at least been more subtle and tactful about it. One other warning: they only take cash or check. Overall, I don't think I will give them my business again, since they clearly don't want me there.

Several of us gals visited O on a Sunday recently for brunch. It has a bright atmosphere and a great patio. The staff were friendlly and accommodating, but clearly run off their feet. However, what they lacked in staff, they made up for with a very tasty Benny...great bacon and eggs poached just right. I'm not much for breakfast out, but I'll be back for this Benny. All round it was a very pleasant start to a Sunday afternoon.

Some gals and I tried “O” on Sunday for brunch. I have to say the food was wonderful and the “Classy Benny” was a hit at our table. It was nice to wash down our good time with a Mimosa or two as well. I noticed that “O” had a unique and fresh atmosphere on the inside, while we waited for a table on their busy patio, which was also roomy and beautiful. I could tell all the servers and management were working hard to keep all their guests happy on this afternoon. Thus as a minor suggestion I wondered, concidering how popular this new spot could be with such great food that, they would expect a high turn out and bring in some extra staff.

Bon appetite everyone! Give this place a try if you want a fun and sophisticated urban brunch experience!

I thought I was just going to have a coffee and meet with my friend, but when I remembered how good the food was from Galaxie Diner(same owner), I realized I would have to order something. My friend was having the B.O.B. and that was sounding pretty good. I had it with bacon and mon ami had it with ham. MMMMM. Great breakfast sandwich and ok coffee. I have to admit that the atmosphere and the history is always a draw for me, so I will certainly be back for more.

The atmosphere is great. Music, dancer, aesthetics, wonderful shisha smoke perfuming the room.
Food and drinks are delicious.
BUT service is ridiculously bad. They took our first order and then we waited and waited and waited for over an hour to order more drinks and a second hookah. Instead of our party spending another hundred dollars at Narah we left to smoke a hookah at home.
Narah is not worth the visit unless they hire some real wait staff who actually serve patrons.

For the price, narah offers a great deal of value. The food portions were large, it was extremly delicious. The service staff were friendly. I personally enjoy the environment and the weekend entertainment with DJs and belly dancers.

This place is not for everyone, ideal for any aged between 20-30, who can handle the sheesha smoke. You have to be 18 to entre and they do ID right at the door. It's more of a lounge with no alcohol.
