My husband took me here last week for a special dinner and it was wonderful. From the appetizers to the final dessert it was a real treat. The service was very good.

I bought a cherry pie and it was better then my grandmothers cherry pie. It was incredible.

My husband and I decided to try out Ruth Chris on our date night. WOW! We had the most amazing experience. We were a little worried about finding it, and parking downtown, but it was really easy. There is a parkade right next to the Calgary tower, just follow the signage to the tower, then go to the second floor. When you walk in you are greeted by a front desk, and then you round the corner to a beautiful resturant. The service was outstanding and food was the best meal we have had in a while. They have a great date night on Wednesday, for $99 you get a glass of wine each, an entree (you have to have the steak!) and desert. Yes the rest of the menu looked pricey, but from what we exprienced well worth it. I could not have been happier and we can not wait to go back.

The crab cakes were bland and the sauce tasted like a wet band-aid. The chicken curry was very tasty however the rice was soggy and over cooked. My friend had the rice pilaf and lamb. The pilafs flavor was off. Overall a huge let down for a place that is way to hyped up in our neighbourhood

The first time I visited Wurst was for a reunion with my German class from high-school. I had an excellent time. First off, I will say that our server wasn't very personable, seemed very snobby and disinterested in serving our large group. But the Pile of Bratwurst and Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier definitely made up for that. Very delicious, made very well. The dining hall was very different and inviting. When we moved to the bier hall, that was excellent as well; the tower of Jager definitely caught our attention. The only downside was that too many Boots had been broken on opening night so we couldn't get any. ;) Any other night I've been here it's been just as excellent!

This is the best Chinese restaurant - food is fresh and always excellent quality, prices are good and the owner is friendly and sincere.

Sir,
Tonight seven of us visited your restaurant after a movie.... We waited over an hour before being seated... Not a problem...you were busy and your kitchen was backlogged, or so we were advised...O.K. I can live with that!! May not like it..but O.K.
After being seated...we placed our drinks order followed by our meal orders.. Drinks arrived... We enjoyed our drinks and there was a reorder for the wine.. Half an hour later the wine carafe arrived. Seems there was a mix up at the bar or with the server... Not good... An hour after placing our food order.....we were advised that they were "plating" our meals... 15 minutes later food started to arrive... My order of a simple "Steak Sandwich" came...but not as advertised....It was not served as presented on the menu... I refused it... After more confusion...the rest of the meals arrived... We were advised that the Manager would be coming to the table to speak to us/me regarding our meals and service.... He "showed up" at the end of our meals (approximately 30 minutes later) with a weak appology... He re-appeared later with the customery offer of a "free desert"....Sorry this was not acceptable... In the end, a minor discount was added to the bill... Big deal!!! Your service was not acceptable...and your food presented was not as advertized in the menu.... Seems you were out of "things"...This is not the first time I have had such experiences at Montana's....
The whole dinner was a disaster and major frustration from start to finish.... I did not eat a thing. I repeat, I DID NOT EAT A THING...Why you continue to call yourself a restaurant is beyond me... Your location has not been the only one which has disappointed me in the past... The location in Beacon Hill is also now on my "no eating list"...after receiving terrible service.. You hire young and inexperienced personnel, from the four young hostess girls who hung around your front door doing nothing, to the confused waiter, to the manager who showed how little he cares about your business... Your franchise has made little or no improvement in service in the past 12 years....and your food quality is at best basic...Your pride yourself as a "family dining" restaurant.... Not for my family and friends...
I know this review will make little difference to you... but you have lost me as a customer... and I will make every effort to let the rest of the world know my feelings regarding your "chain"...
Regards,

At first glance, it looks like a hole in the wall beside a gas station. There's not a lot of parking besides street parking. Inside, it's cozy if a bit dark and outdated. The service was a tad slow, but friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and very filling and the prices were decent. I'd definitely go again, but maybe not during such a busy period.

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews given how popular and crowded this place can get. Service is bare bones at times and can be off putting if you're expecting attentive servers. But they're efficient and the food comes out incredibly fast even if the restaurant is packed. I don't go to pho restaurants for stellar service anyway. The food is good, well priced and you can get in and out in under half an hour.

Went with a group of girlfriends. It was definitely a unique looking place. The service was alright, the server was friendly if a bit aloof at times. Food was good, though expensive. I enjoyed it, but I don't know if I'd go out of my way to go back because of the distance.

I've been to this neighborhood pub many, many times. Never had a bad experience over the past 5 years. Not my favorite place of all time, but guaranteed somewhere between decent and great service, and consistently good food. Good prices. A little loud if there's hockey games on, but great for watching sports, UFC, etc.

This was the worst service I've ever had. The night started out by waiting for a server to notice us (they didn't have a host), told her we had a reservation, and she didn't even pretend to look for it. Told us to sit where ever we wanted. We proceeded to wait for 15 minutes or more for some one to notice us, before we got asked by what looked like the manager if any one had been with us yet. Took about 10 minutes to get the bottle of wine we asked for. Never did get bread or anything. Went to order our food, and then we were informed they were out of 3 things on the menu (which was a plain piece of paper with grease stains on it that was sitting on the table we chose ourselves)- there's only about 15 menu items- so we didn't get an appy, and changed our supper orders. Food was delicious when it came, chicken parmesan and chicken pasta. The parm looked like it was sitting under the heat lamp for quite a while, but juicy nonetheless. Our food was brought by a different girl, wearing jeans and Uggs. No one came to ask how our food was, so it's a good thing we didn't need any thing. The atmosphere was ok... we had to ask for 2/3 light bulbs above our table to be removed as we were roasting under them. The manager was kind enough to grab a napkin off another table so my husband could unscrew them.We would have had dessert if any one had asked.. But no one was around to get a menu from them. One section of the restaurant looked like they got decent-ish service- she probably doesn't smoke, as all 3 of the other girls working there were out smoking at the front door. We waited 15 minutes + for our bill after grabbing a waitress, but she never brought it or told any one, so we went off looking for someone to get it for us. We found the one server that was left inside in the kitchen, she got us our bill and took payment (yay!). We complained, but she never offered a manager or any sort of explanation, just "I've heard that quite often tonight". Fantastic. Also, every candle in the room was out, and after a customer complained, the manager took them out of the adjoining Gastropub i think. They looked like pub candles, not for something that's supposed to be a upscale restaurant in the heart of downtown. This was a Saturday night at 7pm... Appalling service, good food (the stuff that was in stock, anyway), and reasonable prices. We will never be back. I couldn't believe the reason we got such terrible service was because they were too busy all smoking at the same time (including the manager). There was about 5 tables in, could have easily been given great service but no one was interested in that, at all. I will be surprised if this place is in business by next year.

MISSSS THEIR LAMB dish!!!!
... but service was super friendlyand quick.... oysters were fresh, loved the fish in a rock bowl dish, and the rice was sweet! Definitely recommend this place on a cold snowy day/night!

I held my wedding reception here in 2007 and have been back with my husband at least 15 times. Every single meal has been perfect. The food is always excellent with the freshest ingredients. What really makes Il Sogno special is the service though. All the servers are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. This is the perfect place for a romantic night out, or hey, how about a wedding.

I thought the service was wonderful. The meals weren't worth the cost. I have been to many other "fine dining" restaurants with better food.

They have a great live performer and $5/glass wine on Wednesdays as well as great Tapas. Very close to my work so we go often. I've gone for lunch, dinner and Tapas and have enjoyed them all. Only downside about the music is that it can be too loud when you are going for drinks and conversation with co-workers.

This was my first time at Sugo and I was not overly impressed. Nothing was terrible but nothing was fantastic either. I ordered the steak sandwich and was surprised to get what was more like a Philly Cheesesteak. The bread was so thick, it was just too much. The steak was over-cooked and as a result, had very little flavour of its own. The flavour came from the onions, peppers and cheese over the steak. Although the side salad was very salty, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
The service was minimal. I was very thirsty and nearly finished my water before getting my meal. The server did not refill my water. He did check on our meals but it wasn't until we were almost finished. I had to loudly ask for his attention (which I hate doing) so I could order a latte. The latte and biscotti served with it were great.
Overall, the whole experience was just alright. I won't be rushing back as there are many more Italian restaurants in Calgary that are much better.

Absolutely delicious! The way the steak comes sizzling to my table is amazing. I am like a kid with every sizzle that I hear, hoping that this steak is mine and the savoury smell of steak and butter is mouth watering. Best steak in Calgary. I can't wait to go back.

I have to admit, there are very few things I haven't tried on the Joey's menu. I prefer to sit in the lounge as it has lots to look at, great atmosphere and very little wait (if any). I adore the value that Joey's provides. Great drink specials, great menu. I really enjoy how they like to change up their menu just a little bit every 6 months or so - as long as they don't touch the Basa!
The Basa is to die for, I get this main probably 80% of the time. Basa comes with this yummy tomato salsa, basmati rice and this great reduced balsamic drizzle. I also really enjoy the lettuce wraps and the tandoori flat bread is great too. The girls here are really nice and take care of you well. On occasion a meal might be late or dissapoint, just tell your server and they will take care of you - lots of places don't do that, but Joey's is great!

I was there last night, and other than the amazing service and the great gluten free bread at the table, the food was very dissappointing. We had (1) gluten free pasta with tomato sauce and meatballs - mushy noodles and blech meatballs, (2) lamb shank - no seasoning and (3) shrimp and scallops - 3 of each for a whopping $30. Sides were good but mains were not worth the price. I've dined here before and was surprised at the poor quality and value we received.
