Thank you to Chad, JR, Shannon and Stacy our server, we had a great time tonight. As nervous parents of our 8 yr old with celiac, I made a few calls to the manager to make sure things were going to go great for our dinner with family tonight. Well it did. It seems like Chad and the rest of the staff really have things in order and well trained when it comes to celiac disease. The service was friendly. The food was prepared, with care and attention.
I had a lamb burger, we had the salmon, rigatoni and GF truffled mac & cheese. It was a good time along with good food. Just a nice mix. Oh yeah. My daughter also got to have the flour-less chocolate cake. We also got to take a ride in the wine tower. Thank you to all the staff that made this a great night out, which we really needed!

We started our late lunch after being offered a table near the window, by Sean. It was slower, just after lunch, so we are able to ask more questions. The atmosphere is comfortable, clean and welcoming.
Our server said that the favorite appetizers were the calamari, and the asiago dip. Since we are huge fans of calamari, we had to try it. We used to work at an Italian restaurant, so we also crave good bruschetta.
I was contemplating the meatballs as Sean also mentioned that they were excellent.
The bruschetta was obviously fresh and the calamari was so tender and perfectly spiced.
The menu has lots of options, but not too many, as is a common mistake made by many newer owners. They have some great lunch choices and some fantastic larger portion items, if you are extra hungry. I will definitely have to come back and try the ribeye or the lamb chop!
My wife had the caesar with calamari(it was that good)$8 + $6 and I had the fettucini with chicken, gorgonzola and radicchio.
We had a chance to meet the owners and ask them some questions in regard to their gluten free options. It is so refreshing to find a group that seems to really understand the concerns that families, like ours have, so that we can feel confident and safe when dining out.
They do have GF pasta and pizza dough available, so make sure that you let your server know if you have any special dietary needs.
Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. We will be back soon and hopefully we will be able to bring some of our friends and family next time.

Jim Bob from Holy Smoke, was very helpful when we went to order our lunch. Since it was the first time there, he suggested that we try a couple of sandwiches and we also had to try a couple of ribs(you can order individually, $1). Simple surroundings and red-neck decor really make this fit. It's fun and the food is really tasty. We decided to sit outside, since it was so warm and a friend had recommended that the smoke inside is quite lingering. Overall, awesome lunch with my girls! Thanks Holy Smoke!

What a beautiful restaurant in Harvest Hills. First impression is that it is comfortable and fun. We had a late lunch, so we decided to try a few things. My date tried the Koiji house salad and the gyoza. I asked the owner if he would give me the dressing recipe, but only told me that the chef wouldn't be interested in sharing. (it's that good) The gyoza was so fresh and delicious. I haven't had gyoza this good in a very long time.
I had to try the mango/bbq eel and tempura shrimp sushi roll. Delicate flavours and artistic presentation. I really couldn't see, soaking this roll in soy, it was so beautiful. The green tea creme brulee was the owner's suggestion and well played. Well played, sir!
We will have to return so that I can try the bbq eel burger!

Really!? I had no idea that there were so many other delicious choices out there. I do so much shopping around now, that I definately need to add this to my rounds. Very knowledgable people.

I've heard a bit about this place, so I thought I would give it a go. They are quite basic and straight forward. Good burgers and fries. I thought the fries were outstanding! I will probably go back soon.

Took my girls to dinner here to celebrate since I'm not available to take them out on Monday night. We were there early so it was quiet and we had plenty of time to enjoy the atmosphere. The calamari was gobbled up in no time, so that was obviously a hit.
My wife had the salmon pasta, that she really liked, it was just too much to finish. She was thankful that she didn't try some of the hot bread that came earlier.
I had the basa, which melted in my mouth and the blackening was just perfect. Everything was just perfect. If only my girls could eat more of the fabulous burgers that we ordered for them! Thank you Halo, for another nice meal!

Great little find in this neighborhood. I can't wait until more people find out about this. They are very knowledgable and eager to make good food.

We weren't sure if it was open when we first pulled up, but thankfully it was. Obviously the regular crowd know that the beautiful buffet does not start until 5. I don't usually call buffets beautiful! They really make some amazing food. The atmosphere is nicer than most of their competition, so it was a welcome surprise. Great food and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. We had lots of fun and just enough food for all of our group!

I went to Johnny's first place, Bubly's, and I remembered the butter chicken. It was the best that I have ever had. It's been a long time, since, I live a long way from the neighbourhood. I had the opportunity to take my wife to try out Tamarind for the first time. My wife wasn't so happy that I told her we were going for Indian, since I haven't been able to convince her that good Indian is awesome. She had written it all off. Well it may have been that she was really hungry, but I think it was the butter chicken and Tamarind rice that finally got her to admit that this is some good stuff. I loved it, needless to say and will be rewarding my friends with a suggestion to try it out, even if you live miles away.

We don't go often, but the last time that we went for a special occasion, we had such a nice time!
Our server was the best. (I think it was Mai) Our food was delicious, beautiful and tasty. We especially loved the experience of sitting at a nice round table. Great evening all around. Nice work Bill!

Surprised by Earls again. Their presentation was outstanding compared to the last visit that I remember. It could have had something to do with the fact that I was starving!? I really had the best burger that I have EVER had! Amazing.
But wow. The girls all dress skanky though. Too bad that it is so important for the owners to have their staff look like they are on the menu with such beautiful food.

I had given up on this guy, but since we were hungry and needing a quick decision for something before a movie, we ended up here. It still lacks some of the attention to details, but the food is still very good. I did get a smile from the owner, which was one of the other reasons for not coming back before. Maybe...

My wife really wanted to go here and I was hesitant, only because the last time was 10 years ago and all I remember was that everything seemed deep fried. Well the menu certainly has lots of options and was quite hard to make a decision. My wife had the shrimp and lobster linguine and I went for a traditional fish & chips. Both dishes were good, but their buns were fantastic!
Our server was pleasant and patient. You could tell it was more like turn and burn service though. Cheesecake was standard and delicious.

Had a few minutes so we decided to have a little brunch. MMMM it was so delicious. Just right for the just before noon pangs. Nice guys too.

I was looking for a place to hang for a little while to wait for a friend.
I remembered that TASTE was open late. Sure enough, they were happy to serve me a wonderful porter(Anchor). I couldn't resist the duck fat popcorn. It just sounded too interesting!! I was delicious by the way. I will have to try it again when I have more time and appetite.

This will be a dish they will be known for! The steak bites were awesome! The two sauces that it comes with, were a perfect addition. We also had the lobster scallop gorgonzola dip. Amazing patio space and our server Whitney was a super rep for all things delicious. We will be back to sample the mojitos that sound so good!

I've wanted to try out this place for quite some time. It is a beautiful location. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a large group and we were taken care of without question.
The food was outstanding and everyone said that their food was delicious! I had a mouthwatering steak and the best beets that I think, I have every tasted. Over all this was a great experience and I will be telling my friends the same thing.

Out of the blue, we decided to make a run to Canmore and wanted to try out this quiet little corner place. Seems like it is well run and it has some nice coffee choices. I do like that they serve Intelligencia!
I had a very delicious ham & cheese panini. I didn't study the ingredients, so I was pleasantly suprised when it showed up with spinach on it. Yum!
I also tried a MAPLE latte. It wasn't my favorite, but I like the idea in such a touristy place.

I have been anticipating the opening for months as I watched it all come together. Then I drove by today and it was open. It did not disappoint. The decor was done clean but funky. The food portion was generous and tasty! The servers are delightful and eclectic.
They serve Illy and I would have had an americano, had I known before ordering the house brew. My friend bought our late lunch, so it was a great experience for me.

I had a hankerin' for pancakes so why not. I had always wanted to try this place since I had heard it was quite good.
It is very quaint and down-home.
It seems to draw people from all over the city. It was a real mix of old and young people that created a great place for the people watchers in my fam.
The portions were large and ample for the 4 of us. The flavours were wonderful and we loved the whole package. The staff were also friendly.
We will definately add this to the list of return restaurants.

We are not that big of eaters that the buffet would make sense. When the staff finally realized that they couldn't convince us that we had to have the buffet, they were very accomodating. The first person that served us was a little overwhelmed and then the real server showed up. She was so pleasant and friendly. The food was delicious and ample for our party. This place seemed to me, to be a hidden treasure, but apparently everyone else knew and just didn't let me know!!??
We have found our chinese restaurant and will definately be ordering from them again.

Wow. I have only tried the salad, but what a DEAL! this salmon burger is only $15?? I'll be back with more people next time! Need I say more?

I was hungry and had finally decided to check out the newest location of Caffe Rosso. I have heard good things and wanted to try it out. The description of the meatloaf sandwich was tempting. It was so tender, juicy and tasty! I nearly forgot to get my caffine fix before my next meeting. Try this new location. I'm so glad that there is more options on this end of 8th Ave now.

Great pizza in a very easy going atmosphere!

I was a little overwhelmed, with all the burger choices. They all sound so good. The recently hired server wasn't so sure about a recommendation, so thankfully, I saw the trio sampler on the menu. It was just what I needed at the time. Good food and the owners seem to know how to hire nice staff.

I was very excited for the opening, since that means that the previous place is now gone. Good work to Simone and her husband.
They suggested haddock and I always like to go with the owner's recommendations. Simple and delicious. Nice work!

I really wasn't looking to eat lunch as I was in a hurry, but wanted to stop in and see what L'EPICERIE was all about. After looking around and quickly talking to the proprietor, the croque monsieur was "calling" my name. It looked so delicious and it reminded me of my days, many years ago, at a small french restaurant in another city that will go un-named. I couldn't help it and thank you to Dominique for that, because it was so wonderfully fresh and tasty. I did have time to sit and eat half on the small patio space that they have. It is such a quiant space packed with goodness. You must try it out if you haven't gone yet.

I have been watching for the opening of this new coffee shop since I saw the workers digging up the floor 8 months ago. Wow. I am so excited to find a comfortable, homey place to get a good americano and WiFi access.
I have not tried the food yet, but it looks fresh and tastey. I will have to give it a go on the next visit. Real coffee in bridlewood. Yippee.

Nice lunch special of gnocci and salad on a beatiful stretch of 17th Avenue. If you love the sun and people watching it is heaven. The server was friendly and attentive. Thank you Fiore for a wonderful moment that I will remind myself about in those bitterly cold days of winter!

My wife and I really like to come here, so it makes the perfect spot for us when we get to have time to spend with each other. We decided to have a late dinner on this Sunday night. Our server was friendly and attentive to our needs.
I was a little disappointed when he told me they didn't carry my favorite drink anymore. 2 years ago a manager went out and got me a bottle of my favorite drink. So when the bartender told me "we've never had it here" I was a little sad and had to settle.
The calamari is great except for the smoked chipotle dip. It comes with two dips and we've never liked it. Oh well.
My wife had the soup and salad(which she usually likes to have) and I had the Island curry. Both were good, except I dislike baby corn and my curry had that and large chunky vegetables. Good tastes only I thought that curry should have the items cut up so that they were chopstick friendly??
We ended up having the white chocolate brownie for the dessert. It was a good night all around.

I went to meet a friend that I hadn't seen for awhile. It ended up that I had to wait a bit for him to arrive and that was such a blessing!
There isn't that many things in life that are better than time sitting outside on a gorgeous day in summer, with rustling leaves and a patio setting like the River Cafe. I'm sure that everyone has experienced times like this. It is like time has stopped, even if it is just for a brief moment. It is memorable and blissful all in one.

I had time to soak up the sun as the hum of busy chatting people in the restaurant seemed to flow down the steps of the patio like the river that surrounds the island. Thank goodness he was late!
My server was busy so, Justin, really didn't mind that I wasn't interested in ordering right away.
Once my friend did get there, that little afternoon rush was waining and we ordered right away.
My friend had ordered the risotto(which I considered) and I ordered the bison burger. It sounded so interesting and sometimes you just "feel" like a burger.
One ad I remember for this place says "Just a walk in the park". This is definately not JUST anything. The food is amazing! The whole experience is heavenly and memorable!
I think that it has to be the owner's attention to detail that makes this such an escape and easy vacation from the daily grind that we tend to get caught up in. I love how conscious and deliberate all things are here. Nothing has been missed, right down to the wasp bottles so cleverly placed..

My burger was a feast for the senses. It was moist and flavourful. The potatoes were delicious.
If you forget that you are in Calgary while sitting on the patio, I would forgive you, since this seems so Metropolitan. You must check it.

I had a few hours and no solid plans for lunch so I decided to check it out. It is a little out of the way and that is one of the reasons that it is so special. The journey to Reader's is probably where the saying that "Life is about the journey and not just the destination". The walk through the garden is so amazing that you can't be in a bad mood when you get there(except if you have trouble walking uphill).
The view is exceptional of the Stampede grounds and the city skyline. The atmosphere is rustic and comfortable, as are most of Witold's restaurants.
I decided, with the help of Larae, my friendly server, that I would try the BLT.
Wow! This is not your typical BLT. The fresh sourdough and sweet tomatoes are complimented by the McKay place double smoked bacon and aged white cheddar. I had the choice of salad or the soup de jour(cheddar and broccoli). I had the soup and although it was a small serving it was just right for my lunch appetite.
I think that you really have to take advantage of summer while it graces us and this is a great place to do just that. Witold has scored again and that means that the dining scene has expanded just a little more. This is a special experience that is one of a kind.

Friendship is a major contributor to the success of any dining experience, but if the service or food don't make the mark, well then the focus is on how poor things are. That was not the case here, as everything was phenominal as usual. The server Megan, was smiley,knowledgable and curtious. You could tell that she had been trained well, but her friendly manner was all her!
The food was hot. Drinks were cold! Who could ask for more. Oh wait. Yeah, everything was perfectly timed to boot. It was a little noisy, but that really didn't have much effect on our enjoyment. Over all this is a good place to go, because it is consistantly excellent in most ways.

My wife saw these new tents that they have on the patio at Earls and requested that we sit there for her birthday. When we got to the restaurant for our lunch the patio was almost full and there was only one tent available. Voila! Everything always works out! Our server Kelsey was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, we had to rush because we had booked more birthday events for my wife after our lovely lunch.
The tents are very quaint and romantic for a couple and the food was delicious! My wife wanted to start with the old standby of calamari and then she had a ceasar salad with shrimp. She just loves this salad. I had the alfredo penne with grilled chicken.MMMM. One of the most attractive things about going to Earls has to be the fact that you know exactly what to expect when you order a dish. It is fresh and is guaranteed to be the same, no matter what city you are sitting in! I love that! Well done on the new tents. It certainly attracted more business, as the manager told me that business is up during the day, just because of the tents!

I thought I was just going to have a coffee and meet with my friend, but when I remembered how good the food was from Galaxie Diner(same owner), I realized I would have to order something. My friend was having the B.O.B. and that was sounding pretty good. I had it with bacon and mon ami had it with ham. MMMMM. Great breakfast sandwich and ok coffee. I have to admit that the atmosphere and the history is always a draw for me, so I will certainly be back for more.

I was looking for a good americano on Friday on 17th Ave. Luckily I had some cash in my car. I went out with just my CC and realized that they only take debit or cash. Oh well it satisfied my need. Thanks to the friendly staff at Beano!

I only had a coffee and a beer but Johnny is quite friendly and quick to jump up to help any customers. He said that he had a DJ in on the weekend. I will have to check it out some day. I was happy to be able to watch the game, but too bad the flames just sucked so much.

This place is such a lifesaver when you need something to do with the kids! My wife likes to meet with her friend and her kids on a semi-regular basis. Great place with good food and coffee to keep you sane. Just what the parent ordered!

I only knew about De Ville, because of the new location on 1st street SW. I was looking forward to getting to know 'luxury' when a friend had suggested the Art Central location to satisfy my americano addiction so I took a walk in that direction. I love the birds eye view of the construction, as I have a keen interest in development as well as coffee. I would ease into my visit with coffee first. The young man was so fast and efficient that it was ready before I got my twoony on the counter. As Paul the owner and I mused about, good coffee is not easy and so worth the effort that is required. It is unfortunate when businesses don't recognise the benefits of mastering the art, we call coffee. These people UNDERSTAND! The americano was great. Feeling a little peckish, I asked what kind of sandwiches might be available. I went for the bresaola, soppressala salami & aged cheddar focaccia for $8. I found out that the ingredients come from Saint Germain daily and wow, was it tasty. Paul made me have the leek and potato soup and it was a great combination. Nice work people. It's a small menu, but what is there seems to be luxurious in quality.

I love to hang out here. This place has great staff, good food and fantastic coffee. The owner Paul obviously loves what he does and his customers. Worthy of your $. Great place to sit and watch people on the patio.

I stopped by a new cafe that I have noticed just about every day over the last two weeks. The little sign that read "free coffee with any order" made me turn the car into the parking lot. Great photo frames with beautiful photos of Chech Republic. I was also a fan of the early 80's video that was playing on the 3 screens.

I was pleasantly suprised that this restaurant was much better than I had thought for many years. The atmosphere was understatedly greek, bright and airy. Gus, our host was so friendly and eagar to please. My friend and I felt welcome as soon as we pulled up to the menu on the outside of the business. The food was so fresh with well balanced tastes. I had remembered having Greek coffee many years ago and was looking forward to trying it again. There was nothing wrong, just not to my liking. I had the old standby of brewed coffee after trying the Greek version of a triple espresso. Our lunch was extremely tasty and beautifully presented. I would suggest that anyone that likes Greek food will be very happy to find this gem in Kensington. Thank you for your professionalism Gus!

What a gorgeous location! If you haven't been here you have got to check it out. As well as being one of the nicest golf courses in the area, they also have a great chef. Slightly surprising when you usually expect to see this quality of food only in the heart of a metropolis like Calgary. I had an omelette with hashbrowns and toast, while my wife had scrambled eggs and a pancake for our little one. All of the flavours were perfectly combined and lovingly prepared for us. You can tell that the kitchen staff care that you are there. The food was good, but being with friends and being in this location made everything just so much better. Our server was very good and extremely friendly. We had a great time and will send more friends to take in this location. That's what it is all about. Nature is so close. Enjoy Siraia!

I was craving a REAL breakfast and these guys have the real thing!
From the best hashbrowns to amazing eggs. I had the cheese omlette and it really hit the spot. The service is always friendly and sincere. I love this place.

I only had time for a quick drink and man was I hungry! Well I had this great bartender that was taking care of me and he was a Flames fan! That didn't help the game, but at least he got me some great chili chicken and nice cold drink. The place was hoppin!

At least once a week I will pick up a Daily Bagel, which is the healthy and oh so tasty version of the more well-known breakfast sandwich. Real bacon. Real cheddar and tomtato if you like that, on a fresh bagel or english muffin. I just loved it.

It feels so welcoming to first walk in. It reminds me of Grandmas little house, but the food and coffee was never that tasty! Sorry Grandma!

My partner and I love this restaurant and the people that run it! The food is flavorful and comforting. The owners really love their business and it shows in the staff that they hire and train. It's always a treat to go!

The small shawarmas are huge! The guys that work and own this place have the best attitude. It is usually entertaining as well as filling.

We have been here many times. Each time we are in awe of the amazing food. I am the hugest fan of the salt and pepper squid! The shrimp is also a deal maker when it comes to my children eating! Thank you Golden Inn.
