I took a friend here for lunch on a recommendation. The Banff Old Spaghetti Factory is on the second floor of the Cascade Plaza. I was really surprised with how much selection there was on the menu. I had no idea you could get this much value for your money in Banff. I had the Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo and my friend had the Chicken Pesto Pasta. We both enjoyed the food very much. It came with fresh baked bread to start and also included a starter salad, coffee and ice cream at no extra cost! The owner of the restaurant actually came up and asked us how everything was going and our server was really great. I'm a Banff local and I will be coming back here again. This would be a great place to bring a family since there's so much room and the prices are so great. The only issue I had was that I could not finish my food! That was O.K. because we took the rest home.

Definately one of our favorite places to go out to eat in Banff. Probably the best Calimari I've had for sure. The lower lounge is a great place to chill and eat a great burger or whatever. If you are solo the bar is a great place to pull up, eat, drink and have some conversation. Upstairs is great for steak with a mountain atmosphere that is somehow modern. My fiance doesn't drink, but she loves the lounge. There's something for everybody here. I was personally surprised by the wine selection considering it's a steakhouse. Then again, what do I know? One thing that keeps me comming back is the staff. Really genuine and seemingly effortless service. I love the Lik!
Amazing Seafood Tower

Everything on the menu here is superb. Still, my favorite thing on the menu is the seafood tower. It is three tiers of seafood heaven! There's lobster, crab, mussels, oysters, shrimp, clams piled so high it's hard to finish. I'd suggest sharing this one. I'm from Nova Scotia and I'm picky about seafood but this was fresh, tasty, and well prepared.

Another great reason to go to Kensington! I live in the area and this is my first time at the Broken Plate. We had no reservation, and Gus our host made us feel right at home from start to finish. It is such a nice atmoshpere inside. Bright, clean, and Greek without seeming over themed. There where a lot of windows which added to the bright and comfortable atmosphere. The Greek Chicken Wrap was very tasty and perfectly balanced. My friend had the Lamb Burger which was such a nice change from beef. All ingredients where fresh as you can get and each lunch choice came with fries and greek salad. Portion size was very generous and the prices were very appropriate for lunch. I'm excited to go there for dinner!

I had a business lunch at Osteria recently and was pleasantly surprised by the value, and quality of food and service. The atmosphere was upscale and pleasant. I won't soon forget the wonderful light coming in through the many windows. Our waiter made us feel very comfortable and we both enjoyed the food very much. The Pollo Vino Bianco was great and the daily special of Red Snapper was very well prepared. Very moist and tender with very few bones. The marinara sauce was a delicious way to top it off. Our lunch portions where very generous so be prepared to leave full or ask for take home! I took my business partner to Osteria to impress him, but ended finding myself very impressed as well!

I first came across Heartland Cafe about 6 years ago visiting my sister. I loved the small town old fashioned feel and warm service. The old brick building has so much character. You have to get there early for the Savory Muffins because they sell out quickly! You get a free re-fill on coffee which is not the case everywhere you go. I also like going there for lunch on occasion and recommend the vegetarian chili.

I love having my morning coffee and doing some work at higher ground. Free internet access if you want to plug in and the usual pay as you go hotspot if you need to go wireless. Great coffee and tea selections and I love the panini sandwiches. Gets busy mid afternoon. It's great to support the local place!

My girlfriend lives in the area and we discovered Open Range on a stroll one night. We walked in to see the menu and decided to give it a try. The Elk Dianne was such a nice variation on what is usually a beef dish. I didn't know Elk was so tasty and tender. The atmosphere is very Alberta prairie from wall to wall and very tastefully done. I love the old log cabin corner and the wagon wheel. Lots of great art to keep your eyes busy while your food is being prepared. I thought the prices where great and the food was more than I had hoped for. The focus on game meats and local produce was a nice change from other places. We'll be going back for sure.
